When troubleshooting these situations, resetting sync data on MobileMe may be a good step to take. This clears out all current sync data on MobileMe and replaces it with the data from your computer. For example, you would not want to do this...
For all the things #Apple does right, #MobileMe is not one of them. I recently added a couple new contacts from my iPhone, and at some point soon thereafter, MobileMe spawned 24 (!) copies of each of them into my Address Book.
This bizarre act of computer rebellion also broke syncing with my laptop’s Address Book, which now insists that I replace MobileMe data with the contact info stored...
